Had a consult with Dr Arjun Ashokan from Renai Medicity, spoke with him and discussed what the procedure will be and what timeline and recovery i’ll be going through

Booked flights and Hotels in Kochi for 10 days, Had my CT Scan and gave myself more dysphoria on jaw too but eh I dont want to risk anymore.

-2 days

Flight day

-1 day - 2nd Sept 2026

Had blood tests and … anxiety maxxing, went on a small city explore, Fort Kochi and other places.

I was initially told to come alone to get admitted but later they asked for a bystander to be present during admission and yea… was not allowed to leave hospital after that.

Got admitted for the night and paid the advance (100k INR)

Had to order spare clothes and towel since I wasn’t given any in the hospital, the AC rooms ran out so I had to pick a non AC room which was pretty alright.

OP day - 3rd Sept 2026

Was on empty stomach since 10pm yesterday, and no water intake since midnight today. Nurses came to get me changed into the gown and had my nails cut for safety.

0630h I was woken up for prepping, asked to take a bath and change, Amara braided my hair and was taken in a wheelchair to the main room.

0800h i was pulled into the pre surgery waiting room where I was hard panic anxiety sitting there

0830h i finally met my doctor, they took my pre-op photos for reference and had a briefing on surgery again.

0900h was pulled into Operation Theater, I was watching the ceiling and going deeper and deeper into the hospital and eventually went into the OT, There was a clock there which I was looking at.

I was given Oxygen to breath on, a mask was put on me while they attach all the vital sensors around me. I was hearing my heartbeat as beeps, had BP and other machines.

There was an overhead light on me shining extremely bright lol, and being poked on the side for IV fluid.

Nurses were moving around and stuff and it was just surreal.

0915h is the last time I saw in the clock before I finally dozed off, this was weird it was not like I was sleeping it just was very weird.

I dont remember dozing off just the entire time just got chopped out of my brain as if that never happened, its not like falling asleep at all.

1400h Finally woke up? first thing I saw was 02:00 and I was freaking out thinking it was 2 AM.. first thing I asked the person beside me was its 2 AM? and she said no its 2 PM. Then she asked me my name and what I remember. This felt like very TV series-y.

I felt no pain, a little tightness on my forehead and I did gently touch it … omg EUPHORIA!

Had a Drain attached to me and um it was just sucking up blood, there was nothing much in it but yeah it was attached to me and its weird.

1500h-1700h I was kept in observation, mouth very dry and dehydrated, had feeling of throwing up so asked bed to be raised a little bit and asked for a mug, but nothing coming out. Nurses were very helpful and met someone who was talking to me in Telugu.

1800h finally was cleared to drink water … omg water is heaven!!! went back to my room, saw missed calls from parents who I havent told at all about surgery so was freaking out. My brother covered for me!

1900h+ I was just sleeping, too tired to look at phone but I was listening to podcast and talking to Amara.

All night Nurses were changing my IV painkiller, I still haven’t felt any pain which I told her and she said doctor will meet me tomorrow.

+1 day - 4th Sept 2026

0100h Nurse checked my drain and went there’s nothing much in it.

1100h Doctor came and checked up on me and said drain can be removed and they removed my IV too, Doctor said I can explore the city, and the surgery came out really well, and very minimal swelling

1300h I paid the rest of the amount (55k INR) and was given oral painkillers and was discharged.

Went back to hotel and realised I look like east asian a little bit due to swelling, it was pretty cute lol.

Doctor asked me to take a shower but I decided to skip for the day and do it the next day. We watched a weird movie.

+2 days - 5th Sept 2026

We went roaming to Lulu mall, it was freaking hot and then went to Subhash Chandra park and Couple of other places. I had no swelling yet, but was a little numb tight.

Stitches were visible so I was hoodie-maxxing for most part to protect it from sun

+3 days - 6th Sept 2026

Day 3 still no swelling or any pain, on the oral pain killers twice a day. Still unable to move my right eyebrows. Took a shower today as doctor asked. Bought a baby shampoo to be gentle and mild around the sutures and it was… weird… numb and felt like I was washing a rubber thing over my head rather than my skin.

Well we went roaming again, Kochi museum and couple of other foodie places, it was extremely hot so we went back to hotel.

+4 days - 7th Sept 2026

Day 4, gotten some swelling under the eyes, and it feels very heavy. I had little stingy sensation yesternight while sleeping and now right side of face is less numb-er than yesterday.

Had a checkup with doc, more bruising and similar swelling as yesterday. Doc said I am cleared to fly back and go back to work if I wanted to. Doc did mention the swelling totally would take 2-3m to clear up.

I went to meet Goshima and Evelyn today and stayed till late evening in a cafe, me and Amara have really simlar music taste wowie.

+5 days - 8th Sept 2026

Day 5 We went trekking to Athirapally falls, it was very beautiful omg!

Felt no pain and I can feel swelling reducing.

+6 days - 9th Sept 2026

Day 6 Bruising under eyes is very evident one side being more bruised than other. Still not able to move right eyebrow but I can feel around the skin now, Still no pain.

Amara left today so i was just solo maxxing in room, Calling and talking to people telling I’m alive and planning my trip in Bangalore.

+7 days - 10th Sept 2026

Day 7, stitches off and I’m going bangalore!!

Unexpected but I found out another friend lives in Kochi so we met and had really good Biryani, got on train and just napped entire way to Bangalore.
